The Anchor project was a product idea from a Gainesville-based inventor. It secures fragile glass equipment like chemistry beakers and other water pipes to surfaces in order to prevent accidental spills or breakage, while allowing the equipment to be repositioned with ease. RDM designed a proprietary air-release suction system that allowed for easy engagement and disengagement on any surface. We developed a proprietary rotation-release design that allowed effortless attachment of various shapes.
After completing the product design and testing, we leveraged our proprietary overmolding process to create pre-production units. With a large market interest, RDM proceeded with the development of a lean manufacturing process for the Anchor product that allowed affordable small-scale production.
