At RDM, we offer a full stack of electrical engineering services. We can develop a complete electromechanical solution from scratch or build off your existing schematics and electrical prototypes. The integration of design, prototyping, and manufacturing under one roof allows our clients to experience streamlined electrical engineering and project management.
Electrical Circuit Design
We create electronic solutions that are custom designed to meet our clients’ needs. Our electrical engineering team has experience in all manner of electronic control devices including optical, LED, motor control, touch screen interfaces, Bluetooth, proprietary wireless communications, WiFi, and more.
Multi-Layer Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design
We create single and multi-layer PCBs using Altium Designer and Solidworks to meet both Electrical (ECAD) and Mechanical (MCAD) objectives. This tight integration of ECAD and MCAD information increases quality and expedites the creation of our PCB boards. We regularly source PCBs both domestically and internationally, depending on quantity and timing.
Embedded Engineering
The focus of many of our engineering projects involve embedded electronic control solutions. Our work involves the selection of microcontrollers, supporting electronic circuitry, and writing custom firmware to meet our clients' needs. We choose components specifically suited to meet design goals, but some of our favorites include: ESP32, Microchip, Nordic Semiconductor, and STMicroelectronics.
Firmware Development
We have years of code development experience to deliver efficient programming in C and C++. Firmware development is done in tandem with the electrical design, creating a very fast and efficient workflow that results in time saved and better quality final product. Our ability to efficiently iterate gives our clients the best solutions for their electrical products.
Regulatory Testing Lab Collaborations
Prototyping and Testing
Through our partnerships with electrical and emissions testing labs across the United States, we have experience with projects passing FCC, RoHS and Prop65 compliance testing. Once testing is complete we offer manufacturing services for clients looking to go quickly go into production or we are ready to hand off all information and instructions to clients who wish to fulfill production internally or elsewhere.
In-house prototyping and manufacturing is conducted in our Largo and Sarasota facilities. Our team assembles and tests circuits throughout the development process. Our vertical integration of prototyping and production accelerates product development. We surface mount 0402, 0603, 0805 and larger components. Even 0201 prototyping has been achieved in house for clients who required extremely small final products.
